Special Weather Statement issued April 27 at 10:43AM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ
There is an increased risk for rapid fire spread this afternoon across portions of central Delaware. Minimum relative humidity values will be around 30 percent combined with northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with 30 to 35 mph gusts. These conditions, along with the continued drying of fine fuels, could support the rapid spread of any fires that ignite, which could quickly become difficult to control. Winds will diminish fairly rapidly by early this evening. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Be sure to properly extinguish or dispose of any potential ignition sources, including smoking materials such as cigarette butts.
