FEMA Authorizes Funds to Fight Durkee Fire in Oregon BOTHELL, Wash. -  The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) authorized the use of federal funds to help with firefighting costs for the Durkee Fire burning in Baker and Malheur counties, Oregon. The state of Oregon’s request for a federal Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) was approved by FEMA Region 10 Administrator Willie G. Nunn on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 6:06 p.m. PT. FEMA Authorizes Funds to Fight Elk Fire in Wyoming DENVER – FEMA authorized the use of federal funds to help with firefighting costs for the Elk Fire burning in Sheridan County, Wyoming.  FEMA Region 8 Administrator Nancy Dragani approved the state’s request for a federal Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) after receiving the request this afternoon and determining that the fire threatened such destruction that it would constitute a major disaster.
