* WHAT....The warm air temperatures in the 70s may cause people to underestimate the dangers of the very cold water temperatures which are currently only in the upper 40s to around 50 degrees. * WHERE...Coastal Hancock and Coastal Washington Counties. * WHEN...From 8 AM EDT Sunday through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...The cold water temperatures can quickly cause hypothermia to anyone in the water. Anyone on boat or paddlecraft should use extreme caution.

Piers may be heavily swamped by waves. * WHERE...Mason, Oceana, Muskegon and Ottawa counties. * WHEN...Until 8 AM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water and high waves can sweep people off piers. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dangerous waves and currents remain a possibility through the night as southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph continue. Waves of 3 to 5 feet are expected tonight.

* WHAT...A long period south swell will bring elevated surf up to 5 feet to south and southwest facing beaches, along with dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...Ventura County Beaches, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore.

Also, there is a chance of thunderstorms that could produce lightning. * WHERE...San Diego County Coastal Areas and Orange County Coastal Areas. * WHEN...Surf hazards through this afternoon. Chance of lightning this afternoon through tonight. * IMPACTS...Strong rip currents will create hazardous swimming conditions. Lightning is possible in the vicinity of any thunderstorms.

Rock Island State Beach, Baileys Harbor beaches and Whitefish Dunes Beach in Door County. Cresent Beach and City of Kewaunee Beach in Kewaunee County. Point Beach, Neshotah Beach and Red Arrow Beach in Manitowoc County.
