An Alberta clipper will cause impactful winter weather across much of western and central North Dakota Wednesday through Thursday. Accumulating snow is expected to spread across northwest and north central North Dakota Wednesday afternoon and evening, then into south central North Dakota and the James River Valley Wednesday night. Light snow will continue across north central North Dakota tonight, mainly along and north of Highway 200. New snowfall totals of generally a trace to 2 inches is expected. In addition, some areas could see patchy fog or freezing drizzle at times when snow is not falling tonight. This could bring a light glaze of ice.
