FEMA Fire Management Assistance Granted for the Boyles Fire OAKLAND, Calif. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Region 9 Administrator authorized the use of federal funds on September 8 at 7:03 p.m. PDT / 10:03 p.m. EDT to assist the state of California in combating the Boyles Fire burning in Lake County. On September 8, the state of California submitted a request for a Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG). At the time of the request, the fire threatened approximately 4,000 homes in Clearlake City, CA, with a population of 16,000. One hundred percent of the threatened homes are primary residences.
