ESFBRO The Brownsville Texas National Weather Service Office has implemented Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service (AHPS) for the Los Olmos Creek basin in Deep South Texas. AHPS enables the National Weather Service to provide long-range probabilistic outlooks. This service is also available on the internet. At 1025 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near South Fork Estates, or near Hebbronville, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Hebbronville, Las Lomitas, Gruy Stadium, Hebbronville Border Patrol Station, Jim Hogg County Airport, Hebbronville High School, and South Fork Estates.

Surface observations across Deep South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley indicate that isolated patches of dense fog are developing and persisting within the region at this time. Visibilities are being reduced to one half mile or less where this dense fog is forming. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speed, use low beam headlights, and avoid tailgating in any fog through the next few hours and especially during the morning commute to work and school.
