FEMA to End In-Person Presence at Recovery Centers LAHAINA, MAUI – As Maui continues to heal from the Aug. 8, 2023, wildfires, FEMA continues to provide support on-island and remains available to survivors. As the demand for FEMA’s in-person services has diminished over time, FEMA will end in-person staffing at the two public-facing recovery centers on June 18 at the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement Kākoʻo Maui Relief & Aid Services Center in Central Maui and July 3 at the Lahaina Resource Center in West Maui. Disaster Recovery Centers in Clark, Lincoln, Mercer, Owen Counties To Close Permanently; Some Centers Close on Sundays FRANKFORT, Ky. –Disaster Recovery Centers in Clark, Lincoln, Mercer and Owen counties are scheduled to close permanently June 14 at 7 p.m., but help is still available as survivors can go to any open center to get in-personal assistance, and there are other ways to apply.    The centers closing permanently are located at:   Clark County: Clark County Emergency Operations Center, 200 Maryland Ave., Winchester, KY 40391  Lincoln County: Lincoln County Fire Department Training Center, 309 KY Hwy 590, Stanford, KY 40484  Mercer County: Mercer County

Disaster Recovery Centers in 6 Kentucky Counties To Permanently Close, Help Is Still Available FRANKFORT, Ky. –Disaster Recovery Centers in 6 Kentucky counties will close permanently this weekend. The center in Leslie County will close at 7 p.m. May 23. The center in Leslie County is located at: 911 Dispatch Center, 24770 Highway 421, Hyden, KY 41749  Working hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday May 23. Disaster Recovery Centers Reduce Hours on April 14 LOS ANGELES–Beginning Monday, April 14, Los Angeles County Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) will have reduced hours. New hours for the DRCs will be as follows: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. PT Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. PT DRCs will remain closed on Sundays. Visitors can meet in person with FEMA representatives at both DRC locations to receive updates on existing applications. Representatives from local, state and other federal agencies are also available for additional assistance at these sites. Disaster Recovery Centers in Kentucky to Reopen Following Temporary Weather-Related Closures FRANKFORT, Ky. – Disaster Recovery Centers across Kentucky will reopen at 9 a.m. Wednesday following temporary closures due to severe weather and flooding over the past several days. “We understand how important these recovery centers are to Kentuckians impacted by the February Severe Storms,” said Federal Coordinating Officer Jeremy Slinker. “Our priority remains the safety of everyone involved in the recovery process.” Now that weather conditions have improved, all centers are ready to reopen and resume normal operations. Friday, April 4, all Disaster Recovery Centers are scheduled to operate 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 5, all Disaster Recovery Centers are scheduled to operate 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 6, all Disaster Recovery Centers are scheduled to be closed. Disaster Recovery Centers in North Carolina Will Transition to Locally Operated Resource Centers March 31 HICKORY, N.C. – FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers in Western North Carolina will transition to locally operated Resource Centers March 31 and will cease operation as FEMA centers at 2 p.m. on March 29. The centers will operate Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and FEMA will have specialists to help people apply for FEMA assistance and update application status. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) also will have specialists to help people apply for disaster loans. The centers will be locally operated, state and federally supported.
