Changes Coming for Two Disaster Recovery Centers in Georgia The Disaster Recovery Center in Jefferson County will close permanently at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30. The recovery center in Coffee County will close at its current location at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, and reopen at a new location at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30. The centers’ standard hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, except Fulton County center, where the hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, closed Saturday. Changes to CFI Rotorcraft PTS published on March 22, 2016; includes new policy on autorotations.
The FAA has published Change 1 to the Flight Instructor Practical Test Standards (PTS) for Rotorcraft (Helicopter and Gyroplane) on March 22, 2016. The change is specific to the helicopter class rating and focuses on a change in the policy concerning the performance of autorotations during the CFI practical test. The updated PTS can be found at the following web address - https://www.faa.gov/training_testing/testing/test_standards/media/FAA-S-8081-7B.pdf The change in policy effects the way the Flight Instructor practical test may be accomplished when testing autorotations. As in the past, instructional knowledge must be demonstrated on the practical test in autorotations, either straight-in or 180°

Per the Runway Safety Planning Study at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL), DOT-A is implementing Reef Runway Taxiway Signage Improvements. The project will change the Taxiway sign panels in compliance with FAA Taxiway Nomenclature. Tucson (TUS) Airfield Changes
The Tucson Airport Authority (TAA), certificated operator of Tucson International Airport (TUS), is engaged in a multi-year $400+ million Airfield Safety Enhancement (ASE) Program, a project that will transform the airfield layout at TUS to meet current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety standards. This project, designed to enhance airfield safety, will include the demolition of an existing runway (RWY 11R/29L; 75’ x 8,000’) with a new, relocated parallel runway (150’ x 11,000’) that will serve the Southern Arizona region for decades into the future. Meeting About Airspace Changes at Palm Beach Airport (PBI)
The FAA is proposing to modify the airspace over Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) in Florida. Under the proposed changes, existing flight paths would not change, but where pilots are required to interact with Air Traffic Control would expand. The airspace change is to better manage the complexity and volume of aviation activities in the area. A virtual meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5-7 p.m. Eastern to provide an opportunity for public comments on the proposal’s effect on local aviation operations. KSBA Major Taxiway Name Changes / Construction Notice
Major taxiway nomenclature changes coming to Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA), CA, SBA will begin construction on or about April 15, 2024, lasting approximately 14 weeks, to improve various markings, signage, and lighting on the airfield. Concurrent with construction progress, existing taxiways will be renamed to meet FAA standards and to enhance pilot situational awareness.The project will present the following impacts to aircraft operation: SBA airport will be intermittently NOTAM'd closed from 0000 to 0500 local time. FEMA Announces Changes to Disaster Recovery Center Hours RALEIGH, N.C. - As North Carolinians continue to recover from Helene, FEMA is announcing changes to the hours of operation for Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) across North Carolina. These decisions were made in partnership with the state and local governments. Effective Monday, Nov. 25, DRCs will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. All DRCs are now closed Sundays. DRCs will be closed Nov. 28–Dec. 1 for Thanksgiving weekend. All DRCs will reopen 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2. A DRC is a one-stop shop where survivors
