* WHAT...North winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. * WHERE...Oglala Lakota County, including portions of the Pine Ridge Reservation, Rapid City, Custer Co Plains, Pennington Co Plains, and Southern Meade Co Plains. * WHEN...Until 5 PM MST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Sudden wind gusts can cause drivers to lose control, especially in lightweight or high profile vehicles. Strong winds can cause blowing dust, reduced visibility, and flying debris. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Some areas may see up to an inch of snow Tuesday, with patchy blowing and drifting snow possible, espciallly along Interstate 90 east of Rapid City.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. Strong winds could cause tree damage.

The combination of persistent dry conditions, increasing winds, and multiple ongoing fires will lead to an increased fire danger threat for portions of eastern North Carolina today. Outdoor burning is discouraged. Please refer to your local burn permitting authority on whether you can burn. If you must burn, use extreme caution and ensure fire suppression equipment is readily available.

Sustained winds of 12 to 18 MPH can be expected along with gusts of 25 to 35 MPH. Relative Humidities will likely stay above 25 percent. With dry fuels, high fire danger conditions can be expected. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside, use extreme caution.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued March 3 at 10:41PM CST until March 3 at 10:45PM CST by NWS Dodge City KS

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and has exited the warned area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, small hail is still possible with this thunderstorm. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 300 AM CST for south central Kansas.
