Strong winds can cause blowing dust, reduced visibility, and flying debris.

For the Small Craft Advisory, from 7 AM Thursday to 7 AM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. Low visibility will make navigation difficult.

* WHAT...Northwest winds 30 to 45 mph with gusts to over 60 mph possible. * WHERE...Harding, Northern Perkins, and Southern Perkins. * WHEN...From late this evening through Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...The high winds may damage roofs, small outbuildings, and signs. Power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Special Weather Statement issued December 17 at 4:34AM EST by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC

Patchy dense fog continues across portions of eastern North Carolina early this morning. Sudden reductions to visibility can be expected with visibilities dropping below 1/2 mile at times. Visibilities are expected to improve between 8 and 9 AM as mixing begins after sunrise and winds increase. If traveling, allow extra time to reach your destination.
