Tennessee Department of Transportation Awarded $9.6 Million for Debris Removal The State of Tennessee and FEMA have awarded $9.6 million to the Tennessee Department of Transportation for clearing 457,381 cubic yards of debris left when Tropical Storm Helene swept across Eastern Tennessee in late September. Funding for debris removal is authorized under FEMA’s Public Assistance program. Debris collection began Oct. 1 across roads and public property in Carter, Cocke, Greene, Johnson, Unicoi and Washington counties. FEMA Awards Over $1.8 Million to Burlington Electric Department

FEMA Awards Over $1.8 Million to Burlington Electric Department The Federal Emergency Management Agency will be sending more than $1.8 million to the State of Vermont to reimburse the Burlington Electric Department for recovery work for damage caused by the severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides that took place July 2023.  The $1,854,636 award represents 90 percent of the estimated total cost of repair projects, with the company responsible for the remaining 10 percent. Burlington Electric Department’s acceptance of the funding is subject to review and approval by the Burlington City Council. Of the total award, a grant of $1,668,461 is for permanent repair

FEMA Approves $5.9 Million for North Dakota Department of Emergency Services

FEMA Approves $5.9 Million for North Dakota Department of Emergency Services DENVER – FEMA approved $5.9 million in Public Assistance funding to North Dakota Department of Emergency Services (NDDES). The aid comes as part of President Biden’s major disaster declaration issued in response to the severe winter storms, high winds, and flooding in 2022.  This $5.9 million in FEMA funding reimburses NDDES for administrative and other response and recovery costs during the 2022 severe winter storm and flooding disaster. This funding covers 100 percent of the eligible costs. FEMA has now approved more than $72.1 million in Public Assistance funds

FEMA Provides $15 Million to the Minnesota Department of Health CHICAGO – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the  Minnesota Department of Public Safety Homeland Security and Emergency Management division (DPS-HSEM) announced today that $15 million in federal funding has been made available to the Minnesota Department of Health for costs related to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan under the federal disaster declaration of April 7, 2020.
