Kentucky Disaster Recovery Centers Temporarily Closing Due to Severe Weather Frankfort, KY. – Disaster Recovery Centers in Kentucky will close temporarily on Saturday, March 15 2025, due to severe weather.  The centers will resume operations on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, except the center in Clay County, which will resume operations on Monday at 7 a.m. ET. To find all disaster recovery center locations, including those in other states, go to fema.gov/drc or text “DRC” and a Zip Code to 43362.  FEMA is encouraging Kentuckians affected by the February storms to apply for federal disaster assistance as soon as possible. Disaster Recovery Center Delayed Opening on Dec. 21 due to Forecasted Inclement Weather CHARLESTON, W.Va.– Due to forecasted weather, and out of an abundance of caution for Mercer County residents and FEMA staff, the FEMA-state Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Bluefield will have a delayed opening tomorrow, Dec. 21.  FEMA is planning to open the DRC one hour later than previously scheduled, 9 a.m. instead of 8 a.m., and may make additional changes on Saturday morning based on weather conditions. FAA Extends AD Compliance Time for 210 Carry-Thru AD Inspection Due to COVID-19 Restrictions

The FAA has issued a Global AMOC (Alternative Method of Compliance) for AD 2020-03-16 to extend the compliance time from 60 days to September 9, 2020.  This extension changes the compliance time from 60 days to approximately 180 days.  The original 20 hours time-in-service (TIS) compliance time identified in AD 2020-03-16 remains the same. Owners and operators face difficulty meeting the 60 day compliance time due to a number of factors associated with the COVID-19 virus, including facility availability, equipment availability (masks used in the application of chemicals), and travel and personnel restrictions imposed by local, state, and federal governments.

FEMA Issues Public Notice due to Severe Rains and Flooding San Juan, Puerto Rico — FEMA posted a public notice on its website describing its intent to reimburse eligible applicants, such as municipal and state governments, and certain non-profit organizations, for eligible costs to repair and/or replace facilities damaged by Severe Storms and Flooding event that occurred from April 29, through May 10, 2024.  On July 23, 2024, President Biden signed a Major Disaster Declaration due to severe storms and flooding event, that occurred from April 29, through May 10, 2024, which designated the municipalities of Adjuntas, Guánica, Lajas, Las Marías, Luquillo, Maricao, Naranjito, Orocovis

Some NOAA NCEI websites, systems down due to Helene devastation in Asheville, NC

Updated 2:45 p.m. EDT, 10/04/24 The devastation that Hurricane Helene caused in Asheville, NC, and surrounding areas has significantly impacted operations at NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI, www.ncei.noaa.gov).  A number of NCEI’s websites and systems are down, and at present, NOAA does not have a timeline for when they will be fully back up and running again. Work to restore affected sites and systems is underway. Some data products used by other websites, such as Climate.gov and Drought.gov, are also being affected. (Please note: NOAA’s weather.gov and weather forecasting products are not affected by this partial outage.) All
