Tuesday night a strong low will move into the gulf, bringing elevated winds and an atmospheric river to the region. Wind gusts are expected to increase to 40 to 50mph by Wednesday morning. Regarding rainfall, the heaviest rainfall will be focused south of Sumner Strait. 24 hour rainfall amounts at sea level will fall around 2 to 3 inches. For areas north of Sumner Strait to Icy Strait around Juneau, we are expecting 24 hour rainfall near 1 to 2 inches.
