At 1120 AM CST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line extending from near Breckenridge to near Wendell to Almora, moving south at 40 mph. HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to blowing snow and visibility rapidly falling to less than one-quarter mile. Wind gusts greater than 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar and trained spotter. IMPACT...Dangerous and life-threatening travel conditions are expected to develop rapidly in the warning area. This includes Interstate 94 in Minnesota between mile markers 69 and 80. Locations impacted include... Wahpeton, Breckenridge, Elbow Lake, Parkers Prairie, Hoffman, Ashby, and Herman.

* WHAT...Blowing snow. Areas of blizzard-like conditions, particularly in open country. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Minnesota and northeast and southeast North Dakota. * WHEN...Until 6 PM CST this evening. * IMPACTS...Roads have become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility, at times a quarter mile or less. The hazardous conditions will impact the Wednesday evening commute.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes, although the degree of impact is still uncertain.

Lake effect snow will continue across areas along the southern and southeastern shore of Lake of the Woods today into Saturday. Moderate to heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands, with an additional 1-3 inches of snow possible. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities. Travel could be difficult. Reduce your speed, turn on your headlights. Don't slam on brakes!

Lake effect snow will affect areas along the southeastern shores of Lake of the Woods toward Baudette and Koochiching County border this evening and overnight. Snow will fall in relatively narrow bands, quickly reducing visibility at times. Most likely snowfall accumulation will range from 2 to 4 inches through tonight, but could be locally higher within narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities. Travel could be difficult. Reduce your speed, turn on your headlights. Don't slam on brakes!
