Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Gallatin and Madison County Mountains and Centennial Mountains. * WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 5 PM MST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult over Targhee and Raynolds Passes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Moderate to heavy snow likely near the Idaho border this afternoon. Lighter snow and winter weather impacts are expected further north across the Madison and Gallatin ranges.

* WHAT...Visibility one-half mile or less in dense freezing fog. * WHERE...Eastern Glacier, Western Toole, and Central Pondera Counties, Eastern Toole and Liberty Counties, and Hill County. * WHEN...Until 11 AM MST Friday. * IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Fog is still patchy in nature, but is forecast to become more widespread through the evening. The dense freezing fog may result in icy elevated surfaces.

Special Weather Statement issued December 12 at 2:33PM MST by NWS Great Falls MT

Recent surface and webcams observations indicate a mix of dense fog and very low clouds in the Cut Bank area this afternoon. Those traveling in and around the Cut Bank area should expect visibility to vary widely over short distances through at least the next couple hours. Given the below freezing temperatures, elevated surfaces such as bridges may be slick. Although this area of low clouds and fog is shrinking this afternoon, it may begin to expand after sunset this evening. If you encounter fog, be sure to have your low-beam headlights on and slow down.

You can also learn more about addressing any needs you may have after getting FEMA assistance. The locations listed below will be open until further notice, except for those with specific schedule changes as noted: The recovery center in Butts County will close permanently at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13; the center in Tift County will close permanently at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.
