Surface observations and webcams indicate areas of fog continue across northwest and west-central Missouri and far northeast Kansas late this morning. Fog is especially dense in Platte and Clay counties northward into portions of Buchanan, Andrew, and Clinton counties. With temperatures near freezing, a few slick spots may develop on bridges and overpasses in areas of particularly dense fog. Use extra caution when traveling. Slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain extra distance from other vehicles.

In Missouri, Buchanan County. * WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 9 PM CST this evening. * IMPACTS...Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.

Patchy and intermittent dense fog will continue this morning through an hour or two after sunrise. Visibility will be reduced at times to a quarter mile, especially in low-lying areas. Additionally, with temperatures in the teens and lower 20s, slick conditions are possible on any untreated surfaces.
