ESFAFG The Yukon River is open from Tanana to downstream of Mountain Village as of Tuesday afternoon. Ice runs from upstream of Tanana continue as ice degrades between Beaver and Rampart. Heavy ice runs are still being seen below Kaltag. Water levels remain low and no flooding is anticipated. Updates from today's River Watch flights will be available this eve.

ESFSJU The local islands once again are expected to experience a wet weather pattern by the end of the workweek and into the weekend. This pattern is the result of abundant moisture combined with an upper-level trough moving across the northeast Caribbean. Based on the latest guidance, the heaviest rainfall is most likely to occur from Friday into Saturday. The areas expected to receive the highest rainfall totals include the southeastern and eastern portions of Puerto Rico, as well as Vieques, Culebra, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. ESFAFG The Yukon River continues to hold sections of thermally degraded in-place ice between Ft. Yukon and Tanana. These sections are slowly breaking up and will continue to create ice runs.

Intermittent in-place ice remains from Holy Cross down to the breakup front which is currently near St. Mary's. Updates from today's River Watch flights will be available this eve.

ESFAFG The Koyukuk River is mostly open between Hughes and its confluence with the Yukon River. Upstream of Hughes, in-place ice remains and will continue sending runs of ice downstream as breakup progresses.

ESFBYZ Recent warm temperatures and increased snowmelt have area rivers and streams running high. While decreasing temperatures will bring an end to most of the snowmelt in the mountains, widespread precipitation is expected into Thursday. Snow is expected to fall above 7000 feet, with periods of showers and weak thunderstorms bringing between 0.5 to 2.0 inches of rainfall over the lower elevations and foothills. Rivers and streams will remain high, and additional rises are possible due to the expected precipitation. While widespread flooding of rivers and streams is not expected, localized minor flooding impacts are possible. Please continue to monitor

ESFAFG The Yukon River is open from Tanana to Grayling and opening up between Anvik and downstream of Holy Cross. The River Watch team will be in the air over the lower Yukon starting tomorrow and will provide updates daily.

ESFAFG Breakup along the Upper Yukon remains stalled below Ft. Yukon since last Tuesday (May 6). The ice is degrading and breaking up locally but in-place ice remains intermittently below the mouth of the Porcupine River down to the confluence with the Tanana River. With water levels remaining low there isn't much force to push the remaining ice out and it is expected to continue degrading over the next few days.
