Special Weather Statement issued January 27 at 4:32AM EST by NWS Northern Indiana

Strong winds associated with a deep Canadian low will develop this morning and persist this afternoon. Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected this afternoon near and north of Highway 30 from La Porte to Warsaw to Fort Wayne to Lima. If you are driving a high profile vehicle, use caution. Secure outdoor objects that may be blown around.

A strong cold front will move south across the area between 2 PM EST and 10 PM EST. A heavy band of snow with snowfall rates of an inch an hour will quickly move through the area along the cold front. As the cold front passes, the wind will become northwest 20 to 30 mph and will cause considerable blowing and drifting of the snow. There will be an hour or two of very low visibilities below a quarter of a mile as this front passes through. When travelling this afternoon into early evening, be prepared for a rapid change
