Patchy dense fog persists across some locations in the Upper French Broad River Valley from around Rosman to Brevard and Pisgah Forest. Visibility will be sharply reduced, in some cases to one- half mile or less. Temperatures were close to freezing in most of Transylvania, so freezing fog could result in some slippery spots on bridges and overpasses if the road has not been treated. The fog should dissipate around daybreak.

Patchy freezing fog has developed across portions of southeastern TN and the Tennessee River Valley, and southwestern North Carolina, with scattered visibilities generally less than 3 miles, and a few instances of dense fog. With surface temperatures below freezing, the risk for a thin glaze of ice to be deposited onto elevated roadways is elevated. Remember, bridges may freeze before the remainder of the roadway.
