Over the last 24 hours, portions of the southern panhandle have seen snow changing to heavy rain with rainfall accumulations of over 1 inch, ranging to over 5 inches in parts of Ketchikan. Heavy rain is expected to continue through Sunday night and Monday with another 2 to 4 inches, more at higher elevation, between 6 PM Sunday and 6 PM Monday. Runoff will have a difficult time keeping up with this amount of rain, particularly in areas where the ground froze over the last week.
