EIA extends five key energy forecasts through December 2026
In our January 2024 Short-Term Energy Outlook, which includes data and forecasts through December 2026, we forecast five key energy trends that we expect will help shape markets over the next two years.
Small Craft Advisory issued January 14 at 10:39PM EST until January 15 at 5:00AM EST by NWS Key West FL
* WHAT...Northeast winds increasing to near 20 knots and seas building to 7 feet across the Straits of Florida. * WHERE...Straits of Florida, Hawk Channel, Gulf waters including the Dry Tortugas, and Florida Bay. * WHEN...In Effect. * IMPACTS...A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 20 to 33 knots, or seas of 7 feet or greater, are expected to produce hazardous conditions for small craft. These hazardous conditions may result in poor vessel handling and steering response, broaching, overturned dinghies and kayaks, slips and falls on slippery decks, rub damage along docks and seawalls, swamped bows at reef
Dense Fog Advisory issued December 30 at 4:20PM EST until December 31 at 11:00AM EST by NWS Key West FL
* WHAT...Dense fog will reduce visibility to less than 1 NM. * WHERE...Gulf waters from East Cape Sable to Chokoloskee 20 to 60 NM out and beyond 5 fathoms. * WHEN...Until 11 AM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...A Dense Fog Advisory means that visibilities will be reduced to one nautical mile or less. Low visibility will make navigation difficult.
Marine Weather Statement issued December 29 at 3:40PM EST by NWS Key West FL
Through 500 PM, several clusters of strong thunderstorms will continue moving east southeast at 15 to 20 knots across the distant Straits of Florida beyond 20 nm offshore. Mariners in this area will encounter wind gusts of 30 to 35 knots, blinding downpours, rough and confused seas, and frequent lightning strikes. Stay low or go below, and make sure all on board are wearing life jackets.
Dense Fog Advisory issued December 19 at 9:39AM EST until December 19 at 2:00PM EST by NWS Key West FL
* WHAT...Visibility 1/4 mi or less in dense fog. * WHERE...Monroe Lower Keys. * WHEN...Until 2 PM EST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...A Dense Fog Advisory means that visibilities will frequently be reduced to one quarter mile or less. Hazardous driving conditions will exist in areas due to sudden visibility restriction in dense fog, especially on bridges.
Dense Fog Advisory issued December 18 at 10:36AM EST until December 18 at 5:00PM EST by NWS Key West FL
* WHAT...Dense fog will reduce visibility to 1 mile or less. * WHERE...Gulf waters beyond 5 fathoms including the Dry Tortugas. * WHEN...Until 5 PM EST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...A Dense Fog Advisory means that visibilities will be reduced to one nautical mile or less. Low visibility will make navigation difficult.

* WHAT...Northeast winds 20 to 25 knots and seas up to 7 ft, highest across the Straits of Florida.
Coastal Flood Statement issued November 21 at 4:25AM EST until November 21 at 5:00PM EST by NWS Key West FL
