* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 15 below or colder is expected. * WHERE...Knox County. * WHEN...From midnight tonight to 11 AM CST Monday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in frostbite in 30 minutes or less on exposed skin. Frostbite and hypothermia may occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.

Special Weather Statement issued February 15 at 2:50PM CST by NWS Lincoln IL

Rain will turn to snow during this evening over central IL. A brief period of freezing rain and sleet will occur before the rain changes to snow during this evening. The light snow should diminish during overnight, lasting longest in eastern IL. Between a half and 1 inch of snow is expected, with locally 1 to 2 inches possible especially in east central IL. A light glaze of ice is also possible mainly from Jacksonville to Bloomington southeast. Untreated roads will become slippery tonight especially as temperatures drop below freezing after dark.
