The combination of dry fuels, S-SW winds of 10 to 15 mph gusting to around 25 mph this afternoon, and relative humidity values dropping to 30 to 35% will result in an increased fire danger threat for the lower Maryland Eastern Shore. Residents are urged to exercise caution handling any potential ignition source...including machinery... cigarettes...and matches. Be sure to properly discard all smoking materials. Any dry grasses and tree litter that ignite will have the potential to spread quickly.
