Mariners should be prepared for abrupt visibility changes down to one nautical mile or less. Reduce speeds and be on the lookout for exposed rocks and other vessels, including large ships in the shipping lanes. Through 500 PM, several clusters of strong thunderstorms will continue moving east southeast at 15 to 20 knots across the distant Straits of Florida beyond 20 nm offshore. Mariners in this area will encounter wind gusts of 30 to 35 knots, blinding downpours, rough and confused seas, and frequent lightning strikes. Stay low or go below, and make sure all on board are wearing life jackets.
