Tornado Warning issued May 23 at 7:41PM MDT until May 23 at 8:30PM MDT by NWS Goodland KS

At 741 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 7 miles southeast of Kit Carson, or 21 miles southwest of Cheyenne Wells, moving southeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and baseball size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of south central Cheyenne County in east central Colorado.

At 737 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles southeast of Kit Carson, or 20 miles west of Cheyenne Wells, moving southeast at 25 mph. THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR Kit Carson. HAZARD...Baseball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Public. At 724 PM MDT, baseball sized hail was reported over Kit Carson. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be severely injured. Expect shattered windows, extensive damage to roofs, siding, and vehicles. This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of south central Cheyenne County in east central Colorado.

Patchy fog, which was locally dense in some areas, will reduce visibilities across the Helena Valley through approximately 9 AM to 10 AM MDT. Travelers should be prepared for visibilities as low as one quarter of a mile in the densest fog.
