Snow will develop across the far East Tennessee Mountains and Mountains of Southwest Virginia from late Monday through Monday night. Snowfall of 2 to 4 inches are expected across the Smoky Mountains with amounts up to 5 inches over the highest elevations. Across the rest of the higher terrain of southwest Virginia and far east Tennessee, snowfall of 1 to 3 inches are anticipated. Little to no accumulations are expected elsewhere. A weak system will move across southwest Virginia today with increasing clouds and light precipitation. Light snow will develop across the higher elevations of southwest Virginia and far northeast Tennessee with snowfall of one-half inch or less expected for most areas. Slow down and use caution if traveling across the higher elevations of southwest Virginia late tonight and Sunday morning.
