Coastal waters from Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to Port Fourchon Louisiana from 20 to 60 NM... At 1121 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This cluster of thunderstorms is generally located 45 nm east of Ship Shoal 295, or 54 nm south of Timbalier Island, moving east at 40 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, and large hail. SOURCE...Causeway station at mid lake reported wind gust to 62 knots or 71 miles per hour. Radar indicated hail of near ping pong size or 1.5 inches in diameter. IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and
