The combination of persistent dry conditions, increasing winds, and multiple ongoing fires will lead to an increased fire danger threat for portions of eastern North Carolina today. Outdoor burning is discouraged. Please refer to your local burn permitting authority on whether you can burn. If you must burn, use extreme caution and ensure fire suppression equipment is readily available.
