Special Weather Statement issued May 16 at 6:53PM EDT by NWS Northern Indiana

Over the next several hours gusty winds which may be amplified further due to convective outflows may increase the possibility for blowing dirt/dust for parts of the area that could locally lower visibilities suddenly, making travel hazardous. Be alert while driving for potential blowing dust. The gusty winds may cause damage to tree branches/limbs and unsecured property.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued May 16 at 8:42PM EDT until May 16 at 8:45PM EDT by NWS Northern Indiana

The storms which prompted the warning have moved out of the area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds are still possible with these thunderstorms. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight EDT for northeastern and east central Indiana. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service Northern Indiana.

With a very moist airmass in place and light winds the development of misty and foggy conditions are expected. Visibilities over the next several hours will begin to decrease and localized fog may become dense with reduce visibilities down to quarter mile. This will make travel hazardous. If you must travel overnight, slow down and use your low beams.
