Visibility dropping to less than three quarters of a mile... Locations impacted include... Akron, Canton, Youngstown, Mansfield, Warren, Medina, Wooster, Ashland, Salem, Ravenna, Columbiana, Millersburg, Cuyahoga Falls, Strongsville, Boardman, Brunswick, Massillon, North Royalton, Kent, and Barberton. Use extra caution if you must travel. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads may lead to accidents.

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Total snow accumulations from 3 to a little over 4 feet in the most persistent lake snows. * WHERE...Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie Counties. The greatest accumulations are expected across western Chautauqua County and Southern Erie County. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to impossible with deep snow cover on roads and extremely poor visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday evening commute.

At 351 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking scattered snow showers, moving eastward at 20 to 25 MPH. Locations impacted include... New Castle, Hermitage, Sharon, Butler, Beaver Falls, Grove City, East Palestine, Sharpsville, Kittanning, Rimersburg, Ellwood City, Homeacre-Lyndora, Farrell, Shanor-Northvue, Meridian, Zelienople, Slippery Rock, Ford City, Meadowood and New Wilmington. Visibilities will drop quickly to a quarter of a mile in the heavier snow showers. Wind gusts of up to 30 MPH are also possible. This includes the following highways... Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 0 and 69. Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 84 and 120.

Light to moderate snow will overspread portions of central and southeast Illinois by mid-morning on Saturday and continue through the day. The best chance for minor snow accumulations is south of a Jacksonville to Paris line. The highest amounts are expected near the US-50 corridor in southeast Illinois, where 1 to 3 inches of snow is forecast. Snow will taper off Saturday evening. The snow could result in roads becoming slippery in these areas on Saturday. If you are traveling, slow down, drive carefully, and allow extra time to reach your destination.

* WHAT...Increased threat of sneaker waves expected. * WHERE...Coastal Del Norte, Northern Humboldt Coast, Southwestern Humboldt and Mendocino Coast Counties. * WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon. . * IMPACTS...Large, unexpected waves can sweep across the beach without warning, sweeping people into the sea from rocks, jetties, and beaches. These sneaker waves can also move large objects such as logs, crushing anyone caught underneath.
