FEMA Public Assistance Available for Bamberg, Calhoun, Orangeburg Counties Following November Severe Storms and Flooding in South Carolina COLUMBIA, S.C. – Governmental agencies and certain nonprofits (including faith-based organizations) in Bamberg, Calhoun and Orangeburg counties in South Carolina that were affected by severe storms and flooding of Nov. 6-14, 2024, may be eligible for FEMA Public Assistance. This assistance can help cover costs for debris removal, protective measures, public buildings and equipment, public utilities, and more. Henry Hub daily natural gas spot price reached all-time lows in November
The U.S. benchmark Henry Hub daily natural gas price fell to $1.21 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) on November 8 and November 11, 2024, an all–time low in inflation–adjusted dollars. Four of the record–low daily prices when adjusting for inflation occurred in November 2024, and the remaining six occurred in 2024 as well. The Henry Hub spot price in November averaged $2.12/MMBtu, the lowest average price for that month ever when adjusting for inflation.

With permission from Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, team of USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory geologists visited the site of the September 2024 Kīlauea middle East Rift Zone eruption. They surveyed, sampled, and documented the new volcanic fissures and features, which formed west of and in Nāpau crater from September 15–20, 2024. Snow showers continue off of Lake Superior. These showers will ramp up tomorrow morning. Winds will turn northerly through the day allowing for snow accumulations to push further south into Iron County. The heaviest snow will be Sunday evening. An additional 5-7 inches will be possible across the north by Monday afternoon with lesser amounts as you head south. The light snow will accumulate on roads, bridges, and untreated surfaces. Expect slippery stretches on area roads and use caution if traveling.
