* WHAT...Life-threatening rip currents due to breaking waves between 6 to 7 feet. * WHERE...Beaches of Rincon and Aguada. * WHEN...Through Friday Afternoon. * IMPACTS...Rip currents that can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water where it becomes difficult to return to safety.

* WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 4 inches with higher amounts in northwestern McKean County. * WHERE...McKean County. * WHEN...From 4 AM Friday to 7 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes and holiday travel. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Gusty west winds will also cause snow to drift and repeatedly cover untreated roads even when snow is not falling.

* WHAT...A moderate risk of sneaker waves is expected. * WHERE...All beaches and shorelines of Douglas, Coos, and Curry counties. * WHEN...From Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Sneaker waves can run up significantly farther on beaches than normal, including over rocks and jetties. These waves can suddenly knock people off of their feet and quickly pull them into the cold ocean waters, resulting in serious injury or death.
