* WHAT...A moderate risk of sneaker waves is expected. * WHERE...All beaches and shorelines of Douglas, Coos, and Curry counties. * WHEN...From Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Sneaker waves can run up significantly farther on beaches than normal, including over rocks and jetties. These waves can suddenly knock people off of their feet and quickly pull them into the cold ocean waters, resulting in serious injury or death. A weather system moving south into northern New Mexico tonight will produce an area of light snow over parts of the area through Thanksgiving morning. Snowfall accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are likely along I-25 between Las Vegas and Santa Fe, along U.S. 285 between Clines Corners and Santa Fe, as well as along I-40 from Clines Corners to Tijeras. This may lead to a period of slick travel on Thanksgiving morning. Locally higher amounts up to 5 inches are possible in the high terrain west of Las Vegas. Another area of light snow will impact the Continental Divide
Lake Effect Snow Warning issued November 27 at 6:47PM EST until December 2 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Multiple feet of snow will be likely through the weekend in the most persistent lake snows. The highest accumulations will be in the vicinity of the Tug Hill plateau. Snowfall rates will likely exceed 2 inches an hour at times. * WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region. * WHEN...From 7 AM Friday to 7 PM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult and at times nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions will certainly impact the Friday evening commute.

Light snow will move southward through Hill and Blaine counties this evening. Visibility will be reduced to near one mile at times in areas of falling snow. Roadways could become snow covered and slippery at times. Highway 2 between Havre and Harlem is likely to receive snowfall this evening. Snow accumulations around an inch are possible overnight. Those who have travel plans in this area this evening should plan for areas of reduced visibility and winter driving conditions.
