Ponding of water in downtown Pensacola is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 651 AM CDT, Doppler radar and nearby rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...South Central Mountains, including Ruidoso and the burn scars surrounding the village. * WHEN...From noon MDT today through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings and village streets may be flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Slow-moving thunderstorms with rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will create a high risk for burn scar flash flooding.
