At 655 AM CDT, Paducah radar detected scattered thunderstorms, some strong, across western Kentucky, where a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 900 AM CDT. These storms are producing frequent lightning, heavy rain, and may also have some small hail. Be aware that the potential exists that storms will intensify, and may become severe. Large hail and damaging wind gusts would be in play then, as well. In addition, heavy rain may cause localized street and low land flooding.
