Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore.

At 1228 AM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Deer Park, or 17 miles north of Spokane, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph, and some lightning. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Springdale, Four Lakes, Elk, Mount Spokane, Sacheen Lake, Fairwood, Airway Heights, Spokane, Loon Lake, Clayton, Colbert, Country Homes, Nine Mile Falls, Milan, Suncrest, Town And Country, Chattaroy, Deer Park, Ford, and Tum Tum. This includes the following highways... Interstate 90 in Washington between mile markers 270 and 282. U.S.

* WHAT...Long period high northwesterly swell will result in breaking waves between 15 to 20 feet along favored break points. * WHERE...Northern Monterey Bay. * WHEN...From 5 AM PDT Thursday through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Sneaker waves can unexpectedly run significantly farther up the beach than normal, including over rocks and jetties. These waves can suddenly knock people off their feet and quickly pull them into the cold ocean waters, where currents will be stronger than normal. These waves can also carry driftwood logs and other debris.

At 927 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11 miles southeast of Joseph, or 16 miles southeast of Enterprise, moving north at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern Wallowa County.
