Four North Carolina Disaster Recovery Centers to Close Nov. 27 RALEIGH, N.C. - In partnership with the state and local governments, FEMA will close four Helene Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) as of 6 p.m. Nov. 27. The Jan. 7, 2025, deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is unaffected. FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers Soon Closing in South Dakota – Help Will Still be Available SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers in South Dakota are soon closing permanently. The Mitchell location will end operations on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. The Canton and North Sioux City locations will end operations on Friday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. Hours of operation up until the permanent closures are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. The Centers are closed on Sundays. One Month Later: South Dakota Disaster Recovery Update SIOUX FALLS, S.D.– In the month since President Biden’s major disaster declaration for South Dakota, federal agencies have approved $10,570,374 in grants and loans to assist in recovery as of September 15, 2024. To date, a total of 1,162 people in Davison, Lincoln, Turner, and Union counties have applied with FEMA for assistance.
