Merrill Field (PAMR/MRI) Runway 7/25 Construction Public Briefing
Major construction will be occurring at Merrill Field (PAMR/MRI) this summer. Runway 7/25 will be closed for major rehabilitation starting in June 2025 and will remain closed for approximately two months. Bradley International Airport Runway Construction
KBDL runway construction project will start on 4/21 and end on 11/21/25. There will be multiple phases as indicated below: Phase 1: 4/21-5/1/25. RY 15/33 closed but available for taxi. Taxiway S/D intersection closed. Runway 6/24 remains open. Phase 2-6: 5/1-11/21/25. RY 6/24 closed. Portions of taxiway C and E will close based on the specific phase. Phase 4: 8/9-8/11, 8/16-8/18, 8/23-8/25, 9/6-9/8, 9/13-9/15, 10/4-10/6, 10/11-10/13, 10/18-10/20, 10/25-10/27. Runways 15/33 and 6/24 closed for construction at the intersection nightly 0000L-0530L. CHD Runway 4L/22R Closures
Off airport construction will begin 12/9/2024 at Chandler Municipal Airport (CHD). Runway 4L/22R will be closed 12/9/2024 till 12/13/2024 from 6am till 5pm daily to accommodate construction Cranes at the end of runway. Each end of the runway will display lighted “X’s”. Please remain situationally aware and proceed with caution.
Runway Incursion Training Materials for CFIs
Runway Incursions are still a major threat in our aviation system. General Aviation pilots are the leaders in making these incursions. We encourage all CFIs to spend a little extra time reinforcing Runway Incursion mitigation strategies with their students/clients. We have included a link (below) to the Runway Incursion Baseline Remedial Training Lesson Plan. This document was created for trainers assigned to do remedial training with pilots after an incursion. But, you can use it to provide pilots the training they need to avoid a Runway Incursion.
