South Texas Survivors Affected by the March 26-28 Severe Storms and Flooding Can Apply for Possible FEMA Assistance AUSTIN – FEMA is supporting state and local recovery efforts for South Texas homeowners and renters in four counties who sustained damage from the severe storms and flooding that occurred March 26-28. Financial assistance is available to eligible homeowners and renters in Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy counties. FEMA may be able to help with serious needs, displacement, temporary lodging, basic home repair costs, personal property loss or other disaster-caused needs. Survivors with homeowners or renters’ insurance, should file a claim as soon as possible. By
