At 1242 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Eustis, or 16 miles southwest of Lexington, moving east at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of north central Gosper and south central Dawson Counties.

Other locations in the path of these storms include Norcatur, Jennings, Clayton and Dresden.

Strong southerly wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph are expected for a long duration of the overnight hours across northern Nebraska Thursday night into early Friday. This is largely due to evaporation of non-thunderstorm precipitation before reaching the surface. Areas of greatest concern for this activity would be along and north of Highway 91, along and east of Highway 7. This threat should wane towards 4 AM CDT.
