Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report EOC Activation Level:  Level 2 Meteorological Summary: Another chilly start across the Sunshine State, with many below freezing temperatures (27 to 31-degrees)  observed across North Florida this morning. Northerly to northeasterly winds will continue to bring cooler and drier conditions today, with afternoon high temperatures 3 to 6-degrees below normal for many North Florida locations.  Winds become breezy along the Northeast Florida Coast this afternoon, with gusts reaching 15-20 mph  at times. Rain chances remain near-zero largely statewide, with isolated to widely scattered coastal showers possible for East-Central Florida (20-30% chance of rain).

HAZARDS...A few slow moving bands of heavy snow which can reduce visibility to less than a quarter of a mile. LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 817 AM EST, a band of heavy snow was 16 miles northwest of State College moving southeast at 10 MPH. THIS BAND OF HEAVY SNOW WILL BE NEAR... Black Moshannon State Park around 820 AM EST. For those driving on Interstate 80, this includes areas between the Penfield and Snow Shoe exits, specifically from mile markers 117 to 144, with the most snow falling between mile markers 130 and 140. This includes Interstate 99 from mile markers

Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report EOC Activation Level:  Level 2 Meteorological Summary:   Mostly dry conditions across the state today as a dry reinforcing cold front moves through (near 0% chance of rain). Breezy northwesterly to westerly winds near 10-15 mph with gusts upwards of 15-25 mph High temperatures in the middle to upper 60s across North Florida, low to middle 70s spreading southward to the I-4 corridor, and middle 70s to low 80s elsewhere. Locally sensitive wildfire conditions possible across portions of North Florida this afternoon as  dry air pulls relative humidity values down to 30-45% .

Virginia was the top net electricity recipient of any state in 2023

Electricity routinely flows among the Lower 48 states, with almost 10% of U.S. electricity generation traded across state lines. Generation of electricity exceeds its consumption in 25 states, and excess electricity is transmitted across state lines. In 2023, utilities in Virginia brought in the most electricity from other states, with 50.1 million megawatthours (MWh) in net electricity interstate receipts, or 36% of the state's total electricity supply. Generators in Pennsylvania moved the most electricity outside state borders in 2023, with 83.4 million MWh of power shipped out, or 26% of generation in Pennsylvania.

Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report EOC Activation Level:  Level 2 Meteorological Summary: Dense Fog Advisories  will remain effect across Northeast Florida through the mid-to-late morning hours as dense fog has reduced visibility to ¼ of a mile or less. Foggy conditions  throughout the rest of the Big Bend and Suwannee Valley should also lift by the mid-morning hours. Spotty showers have already begun to push onshore along portions of the East Coast this morning, and will continue to move inland with the help of onshore winds and an upper-level feature adjacent to the coast (15-45% chance of rain).
