Locations beneath the band of rain lifting from south to north along the I-35 corridor have displayed significant visibility improvements over the past few hours. It's likely that locations in western Wisconsin will undergo further improvements as the shield of rain moves in this afternoon. While the overall scenario is looking better from a fog standpoint, those driving should be aware that areas of low visibility remain possible prior to the arrival of persistent rainfall.

Surface observations and MNDOT road cameras reveal dense fog across portions of central Minnesota. Satellite imagery shows very little movement of low stratus/areas of dense fog and conditions continue persist. Visibility may fall below 1/2 mile at times. Drivers are encouraged to slow down, use low beams, and leave plenty of distance between the vehicles. Additionally, a few slick spots appear possible on area roadways due to reports of freezing fog. Visibility may improve late this afternoon but more fog is expected tonight.
