The combination of westerly winds gusting up to 25 mph, minimum relative humidity values of 20-30%, and drying fine fuels will lead to an elevated risk of fire spread today. The risk will be highest across the Capital Region, the Lake George and Saratoga region, as well as the mid Hudson Valley, Taconics and eastern Catskills. Any fires that develop in these areas could spread rapidly. Residents are encouraged to exercise caution if handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery, cigarettes, or matches. As a reminder, the annual statewide burn ban is in effect until May 14. No burn

West to northwest winds gusting up to 25 mph combined with relative humidities falling to below 30 percent in the afternoon will contribute to an elevated risk of fire spread Thursday. The risk will be highest across the middle and upper Hudson Valley and Catskills regions which include the Capital Region, the Lake George and Saratoga region, as well as the mid Hudson Valley, Taconics and southeast Catskills. The annual statewide burn ban is in effect until May 14. No burn permits are issued.

Winds gusting as high as 30 mph. * WHERE...Sheridan County. * WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to noon MDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will develop mid evening across the northeastern Nebraska Panhandle and will begin to accumulate during the overnight hours. By mid morning Friday, snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected. Locally higher amounts are possible in the Pine Ridge of northern Sheridan County.
