The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission has issued an Air Quality Alert for Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin and Licking counties in Central Ohio, until midnight EDT tonight. Fine particulate levels are expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range. Active children and adults, and people with respiratory disease, such as asthma should limit prolonged outdoor exposure. At 1150 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Pembroke, or 9 miles west of Lumberton, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Lumberton, Pembroke, Bladenboro, Buie, Robeson Community College, Smiths, Barker Ten Mile, Abbottsburg, Butters, Hestertown, Elrod, and Southeastern Regional Medical Center. This includes Interstate 95 in North Carolina between mile markers 11 and 23.
