ESFLOT A strong storm system will move through the region Tuesday into Wednesday leading to multiple waves of soaking rainfall. The highest rainfall rates are expected Tuesday morning and again Tuesday evening. A band of lake effect snow will develop along the Wisconsin shore of Lake Michigan this evening, then swing southward across the northeastern Illinois and far northwestern Indiana shores after midnight. This band of snow looks to remain progressive, which should limit its duration at any given location across the far northeastern Illinois shore. Nevertheless, some light accumulations and slick travel may result near the lake into early Sunday morning. The lake effect band is expected to become focused across northwestern Indiana Sunday morning, before shifting east of the area Sunday afternoon.
