Freezing rain continues for areas along and north of I-69. Ice accumulations of up to 0.06" have been observed at MBS International Airport in Saginaw, with additional ice accumulations of up to 0.05" possible through 9 AM EST. With air temperatures between 31 and 34 degrees and road temperatures between 31 and 35 degrees, slick spots are likely especially on untreated roadways and elevated surfaces such as bridges, overpasses, and exit ramps. Motorists should be prepared for changing road conditions and allow extra time to reach their destination. Sidewalks and parking lots may also be slippery this morning.

Lake effect snow bands will continue to impact the area through the early morning. A primary band is settling slowly southward and is now located between I-96/696 and I-94. Brief periods of heavy snowfall rates around an inch per hour will be possible within this band. In addition, reduction of visibility below a half mile will be possible. A secondary band is redeveloping along M-59 and is also drifting southward and may result in snowfall rates around one half inch per hour. Motorists should remain aware of possible changes in driving conditions throughout the morning.
