Interior Alaska Flight Instructor Association

The Interior Alaska Flight Instructor Association (IAFA)  holds 8 meetings a year on the last Wednesday of the month except November, which is the next to last Wednesday due to Thanksgiving, and December, which there is no meeting due to Christmas. Flight Instructor Endorsements

The FAA recently received the following email message from a stakeholder external to the FAA. The email read -  “I was contacted by an applicant for an Initial CFI in the XXX FSDO with an issue regarding the newly released Touchdown Autorotation Proficiency Endorsement. Per the applicant, he had never received any training in the performance of a touchdown autorotation. When the DPE arrived to administer the practical test, the DPE questioned the CFI applicant about the training he had received to obtain this endorsement. The applicant advised he had never received this training, so the DPE would not accept

Is Your Flight Review Set to Expire, But You Can’t Fly With a CFI Because of COVID-19?

You may be able to extend your flight review grace period for up to three months by earning three WINGS  credits. WINGS is the FAA’s Pilot Proficiency Program. You can get WINGS  credits by going to FAASafety.gov. Hover over “Activities, Courses, Seminars & Webinars” then choose “Courses” for online training, or “Seminars & Webinars” if you prefer to earn credit by attending a live webinar. There are over 500 online courses and lots of webinars available. To complete a phase of WINGS , you’ll need to complete three flight credits when things get back to normal but to extend your flight
