Special Weather Statement issued January 28 at 4:12AM EST by NWS Peachtree City GA

Some patchy freezing fog has developed across portions of Western and Northern Georgia overnight with visibilities between one quarter mile to 2 miles. Temperatures in these areas are currently at or just below freezing which when combined with the patchy fog poses a risk for a very light glaze of ice to develop on elevated surfaces through the early morning hours. Improving conditions are expected shortly after sunrise as temperatures rise. If driving, slow down, use low-beam headlights and leave extra distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Special Weather Statement issued January 23 at 2:04PM EST by NWS Peachtree City GA

While temperatures have risen above freezing this afternoon and assisted in the melting and drying of roads, refreezing will occur again this evening as temperatures drop back below freezing. Secondary and less-traveled roadways will have the highest potential for lingering icy spots and black ice that will cause slick and hazardous driving conditions. If you have to drive in these areas overnight into Friday morning, exercise caution. Proceed slowly and allow extra distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you. Heed any messages from local officials regarding affected roads and driving conditions.
